International Service Projects 08 - 09

INTERNATIONAL SERVICE: 

PROJECTS ON INTERNATIONAL DAY:          

v    (1st July) Celebration of International RI District 3292 Inaguration Day:  11th Aug: On the occasion of International Youth Day, regarding the youth program concerning Environment and Climate Change Concern for Youths was organized at Patan Durbar Square jointly with other 5 NGOs of Nepal.

v  8th Sept: Zonal celebration of World Literacy Day was done with all clubs of Zone (V) jointly at Buddhist Bal Griha, Jorpati. Donation of School Bags, Scale, Copies, Pencil, Eraser, Pencil Sharpener was done to the children (54) residing over there.

v  14th Sept: On the occasion of World Children’s Day, joint Birthday celebration of all the children was done at Missionary of Charity

v  World Interact Day (5th Nov);v         Visit was made to the Interacts of Mangal H.S.S and Panga H.S.S and Orientiation class was conducted for the Interacts by President Amod. The program was followed by the fellowship lunch. 

PROJECTS ON MULTI DISTRICT ACTIVITES:

v   Wheel Chairs received from Wheel Chair Foundation through Rotary Club of Fidalgo Island to Rotary Club of Kathmandu West and Rotaract Club of Kathamandu Mid-Town, in presence of International Rotarians and PDG of RI District 5050 and escorted them to the following areas,
1.  Cerebral Palsy Rehab Centre and donated 24 Wheel Chairs. (22nd Sept)
2.  Shanti Shewa Griha and donated 12 Wheel Chairs. (23rd Sept) 

Marking International Year of Sanitation 2008: Toilet complex, Groud water source (tubewell) was constructed and handed over by the club to Necosera Village Community & Himalaya Primary School at Thimi on 15th October, The project was done with the helping hand of Rtn. Eileen & John Heasly, Rtn Dr. Chandra Lekha Tuladhar, Parent Rotary Club along with ENPHO.Chief Guest: DG Rtn. Dr. Tika Man Vaidya

 World Rotaract Week Celebration (6th -13th) March:          
Joint Meeting was conducted with Parent Rotary Club 
        
Power point presentation was presented on topic "Rotaract Club" to the students doing Internship from ACE College in the Club
         
(7th March): Fellowship basketball Match was played between Internship Students
Feeding Program was organized with the Ace College Internship students in the School of Bagmati Slum Area. The program benefitted 45 students of School. (8th March)

Stationary items were donated to the students over there in school of Slum. (8th March)

World Food Day (16th October)
Addressing Hunger and World Food Day Club Donated 1000kg of Rice to Shanti Shewa Griha.
-          Ration Collected from Various Muthidan Program and from contribution of Parent Rotary Club's Rotarians. Chief Guest: DGE Rtn. Ratna Man Shakya.

Fund received of 400$ from Rtn. Pamella from Fidalgo Island Rotary for the purpose of Water management project on 2nd Oct.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: 

PROJECT ON CAREER OPTIONS:

  • Talk & Training program was organized on the Topic of “Satisfaction, Success and Goals” by Parent Rotary Secretary Rtn. Som P. Pudasaini at Spectra Opticals, Thapathali.(20th July)
  • Miss Anjana Manandhar was given an opportunity regarding her intensive career in the activities of the Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town.(25th July)
  • Talk program was organized on the topic of “Right Career Right Choice” by AG Rtn. Purna Man Shakya at Spectra Opticals, Thapathali.(3rd Aug
  • Professional Development Workshop was organized to develop Bridge from Campus to Corporate World jointly with Rotary Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town for the youths and Rotaracts at DICC building, Tripureshwor. Resource Person: Rtn. Anand Tuladhar. Participants: 19 Rotaracts and 9 youths.(16th Sept)
  •  Internship career of 80 hrs was provided by the club to the ACE college students by including them in the Clubs project under the personal guidance of Rtn. Dr. Lekha maam. (From 1st March)
  • Club admitted 5 girls from the community of Bagmati Slum Area in Kumbeshwor Technical School for 3 months to provide the Knitting and Weaving training. They were sponsored by the Club for 3 months. (5th May) 

PROJECT ON HR/ PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT:

  • Educational visit of National Welfare for the Blind, Tripureshwor with the Rotary Club of Charumati, Rotary Club of Balaju, and Rotary Club of Himalayan.(17th June)v         Mind management workshop with the Theme (Right Brain,The Perfect Art of Living) was        organized at Manav Dharma Ashram. 150 Participants attended the programme. Resource Person for the Program was Dr. J.P Agarawal from Delhi. (5th July)
  •  Education on CEREBRAL PALSY, problem faced by Child and the Parents from the head Mr. Batuk Rajbhandhari during visit of Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation Centre office.(15th July) 
  • Mind Make up Workshop on “Brain Storming Mind Management for the Youths". Venue: Ideal School, Chabhil. Dr. Agrawal gave the tips regarding stress management and victory over Exam fever to the School Children. Participants were: 300 School Students. Resource Person: Dr. J.P Agarawal. (17th Sept)
  •  Rtn. Anand Tuladhar, gave an informative speech to the members of club on the topic "Youths and Service" on 9th Nov at Spectra Opticals, Thapathali.
  • Program on the various "freestyles of Swimming" by the Swimming Instructor Sudeep Rajbhandhari on 14th Dec at Spectra Opticals, Thapathali.
  • Paper presentation on "Youth and Climate Change Policy" was done jointly with CIRA at Apex College where Workshop was organized making groups among participants and conduction of panel discussion. The program was attended by 40 youths from various college and organization working on Global Warming. (28th Feb)
  • Vision screening training was given to all the Internship students at Spectra Opticals, Thapathali. (1st March) 

OWN CLUB PROJECTS:

  • Vison Screening training program was organized for the new members of our Club, visiting guests, Roraracts of Patan West and Youths of Ramkot from Jayanti Yuva Club in Spectra Opticals, All together 20 Participants. Resource Person: Rtn. Dr. Chandra Lekha Tuladhar.(21st July) 
  • Demonstration Workshop was organized about the reuse of Waste Paper for Briquette Making by the head of Shanti Sewa Mr. Krishna Gurung..(13th Sept)
  • Training on water management project regarding SODIS method of water purification were provided at ENPHO.Resource Person: Mr. Rajesh Adhikari (ENPHO), 2nd October.
  • Participation was done in the talk program about "Global Economic Recession" organized by R.C Rajdhani where Rtr. Anjil from the club stood 1st. (2nd May)
